BROWN SUGAR GRAPEFRUIT

 photo IMG_0462_zpscb8257be.jpg
Original recipe by Playing House

1 RUBY RED GRAPEFRUIT
1/4 CUP OF BROWN SUGAR
1/2 TEASPOON OF CINNAMON
2 TABLESPOON OF BUTTER

PREHEAT OVEN TO BROIL AND PREPARE A BAKING SHEET WITH FOIL WAX SIDE UP. MELT BUTTER OVER MEDIUM-HEAT. ONCE MELTED, LET IT BUBBLE AND START TO BROWN. REMOVE FROM HEAT AND ADD BROWN SUGAR AND CINNAMON. COMBINE TOGETHER UNTIL FULLY MIXED.

CUT ONE GRAPEFRUIT IN HALF AND SET EACH HALF ONTO THE BAKING SHEET. SEAR THE CUTOUTS IN EACH GRAPEFRUIT SO THAT THE SUGAR MIX SEEPS INTO THE FRUIT. USING ALL OF THE BROWN SUGAR MIX, SPOON AN EVEN AMOUNT ONTO EACH GRAPEFRUIT.

PLACE THE BAKING SHEET WITH THE GRAPEFRUIT INTO THE OVEN FOR 2-3 MINUTES. CAREFULLY REMOVE FROM OVEN AND SET ASIDE TO COOL.

I SCRAPED MOST OF THE BROWN SUGAR TOPPING OFF, AND JUST ATE WHAT FELL INTO THE GRAPEFRUIT.

ENJOY!

  2. Interesting! I have had grapefruit with regular granulated sugar, but I have never thought to try it with brown sugar, or warm!
